Asset Finance & Equipment Funding
Structuring an ongoing asset finance facility for a major commercial operator
- 01
The Situation
A large commercial business regularly acquired machinery, heavy equipment and yellow goods to support ongoing operations, project commitments and continued growth.
With equipment purchases occurring throughout the year, the business required a funding structure capable of accommodating successive acquisitions while providing greater certainty around available finance and cash flow planning.
- 02
The Challenge
The frequency and scale of equipment purchases placed competing demands on the business's cash flow, working capital and available funding capacity.
Arranging finance separately for every acquisition could involve repeated lender assessments, additional administration and uncertainty around funding availability when new equipment was required.
The business needed a more coordinated approach that would allow machinery to be acquired as operational requirements arose, while preserving cash for wages, suppliers, project costs and other day-to-day commitments.

Beacon's Approach
Beacon reviewed the client's financial position, anticipated equipment purchases, cash flow and broader funding requirements.
Rather than assessing each acquisition in isolation, Beacon worked with lenders to structure an overarching asset finance limit designed to accommodate successive machinery and yellow goods purchases.
Under the agreed facility terms and lender requirements, funding could be utilised progressively as equipment was acquired, without drawing the entire facility upfront.
The strategy also considered repayment commitments and their relationship with the business's working capital needs, helping align equipment investment with the demands of ongoing operations.
- 04
The Outcome
An overarching asset finance structure was established to support recurring machinery and yellow goods purchases.
The arrangement provided greater visibility over available equipment funding, reduced the need for an entirely new financing process for each eligible acquisition and supported more coordinated capital expenditure planning.
By aligning finance with the business's purchasing cycle, the structure helped preserve working capital and provided a scalable framework for continued investment and growth.
